“Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”(Romans 14:19)

How do we deal with differences at church?

1. Know that the fundamentals of basic Christian beliefs and morality are non-negotiable.

2. Recognize the heart of your brother or sister, because God will. We are not the judge, God is, and He first sees our hearts.

3 Know that there is often a right and a wrong, the “weak and the strong” in Rom. 14. Both are earnest and want to please God. Secondary issues often have right and wrong labels associated with differing views (Rom. 14: 5), but we are to move beyond and pursue truth with the goal of moving to a stronger faith.

4. Do what builds up faith in a brother, a sister, even you, in what really are the most important ways. Encourage each other as we pursue a stronger faith, a faith that makes sense.
