A Stop Hunger Now (SHN) 20,000 meal packaging event is happening Saturday, February 6th at 11:00 am in Grace Hall as part of our youth group’s Meta 2016 weekend. This event, which includes lunch afterwards at 12:30 pm, is for the entire congregation so we invite everyone to come and to bring friends!
We will be assembling and boxing up nutritious dehydrated, rice-based meals that will be shipped to some of the remotest areas of the world. Many of the meals will be served as hot lunches to schoolchildren — quite possibly their one meal that day. Parents who would otherwise keep their children at home are sending them to school for the meal, which means these children are receiving an education and perhaps even starting to break the cycle of poverty.
Register here for this fun yet worthwhile event! There is no set cost to participate, but please consider making a donation to help defray our expenses of $0.29 for each SHN meal.
