Core Values—Grace Community Church

While every Christian church belongs to Jesus Christ, each individual congregation possesses a unique, lived-out character that reflects God’s handprint on that church. Core values are those recurring themes that weave through every ministry, every aspect and dimension of our community. Ultimately, for Grace Community Church, these core values affirm our passion and inform our purpose.

  • New life through the Gospel: We want to be honest about our flaws and brokenness. With humility, we embrace our need for a Savior as we acknowledge our sin. Prayerful confession and repentance do not usher in shame, but rather joy, forgiveness, and reconciliation through the cross and resurrection of Jesus. Because of what Jesus has done, we celebrate our life of freedom through the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:1; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20)
  • Commitment to know and follow Jesus: We believe it is essential to provide an environment for Grace family members of all ages to intentionally learn and grow spiritually. In our faith journey, we desire to mature in our knowledge of God’s Word, and we desire to live it out, becoming more and more like Jesus as we surrender to the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 11:18-19; Ephesians 4:13-16; 2 Peter 1:5-8)
  • Love in action: Emboldened by the power of God, we believe we are created to serve—serving both our brothers and sisters in our church and in outreach to our neighbors and the world. Since we encounter Christ when we give ourselves away, we are a sending church, encouraged and encouraging others to take risks in His name and step out of comfort zones. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3; 1 John 3:16-18)
  • Compassionate community: We are a relational church, understanding that we cannot live out our Christianity on our own. Authentic community means walking alongside one another, carrying one another’s burdens; showing up and spending time with one another; nurturing one another; and welcoming and embracing everyone who comes through our doors. (John 13:35; Romans 12:10-13; Galatians 6:2)
